CSI Celebrates 25 Years

HAUPPAUGGE, NY--Communications Specialties, Inc. (CSI) celebrated its 25 year anniversary this August. Founded in 1983, CSI is recognized worldwide for its development of innovative products in the areas of fiber optic transmission and computer-video technology.

@body:"My roots were in the heart of broadcast having worked as a development engineer for many years at CBS," said John Lopinto, founder, CEO and president of CSI. "With that experience, we were able to quickly identify the need for reliable, broadcast quality hardware to bridge the gap between computer video and the television broadcast signal. The result was the Scan Do series of scan converters that propelled CSI to the center stage and has given us a reputation for quality and innovative products that literally spans decades."

Shortly after the Scan Do's introduction, CSI produced another award-winning product line--the Deuce series of video scalers. In 1998 CSI was one of the first to bring cost-effective fiber optic technology to the broadcast and commercial AV marketplaces with the Fiberlink and Pure Digital Fiberlink product lines. CSI also manufactures video splitters, switches, interfaces, and more.
