. Designed for a wide range of applications, the Model D-2 incorporates three Duganpatented technologies: the Dugan Speech System, which automatically manages any number of live microphones in unscripted talking situations; the Dugan Music System, which offers automatic downward expansion to help reduce feedback and noise pick-up in live performance venues, and the Dugan Gain Limiting System, which provides a continuous NOM (number of open mics) master gain adjusting system to prevent feedback and ambient noise build-up.

“The combination of these three technologies make the D-2 a unique tool for broadcasting, sound reinforcement, recording, teleconferencing, distance learning and live performance,” says Dan Dugan. “With the D-2, users eliminate cueing mistakes and late fadeups; mixing of live mics is transparent.”

The Model D-2 patches into the insert points of an audio mixing console; it identifies who is talking and makes fast, seamless crossfades. Dugan’s Speech System is particularly appreciated for its continuous ambience, which always sounds like one open mic in the room no matter how many mics are being mixed.
