Avermedia Announces First Winner Of Monthly Teacher Forum Contest

MILPITAS, CA-–AVerMedia Technologies announced the name of the winner of the AVerVision Teacher Forum Contest. This contest was developed to encourage educators to share ideas and information about document cameras and other classroom technology within a forum on the AVerMedia website. Tim Price, a second grade teacher of Kings River-Hardwick Elementary School in Hanford, California has received the honor of being the first Teacher Forum participant to win this award. Selected by random drawing for posting to the AVerMedia forum between June 15 and August 28, 2008, Tim Price will receive a new AVerVision CP300 Interactive Document Camera.

"I was so excited to hear I won the document camera contest. I learned so much from the message boards and then winning my own document camera for my class was an extra bonus I had only wished for. I am planning on using the new CP300 to enhance my instruction all around, from picture books read aloud coming alive to enhancing student writing. I have big plans for math instruction and teaching the use of manipulatives in math," says Tim Price of Hanford, CA. "I have been collecting ideas from many sources and I am sure my class will reap the benefits and encourage their attention span to stay focused. The AVerMedia Forum Contest is a monthly event. Each forum member can submit as many posts as they wish in order to increase their chances of winning. Relevant posts will be eligible for the next contest from August 29 to September 29, 2008. The next drawing will be held on September 30, 2008 at which time AVerMedia will award one random forum user with another document camera. In addition to this contest, forum participants can refer friends and fellow teachers to the forum. The participant with the most referrals at the end of each month will also receive a new interactive document camera from AVerMedia.
