Stewart Filmscreen Participates in Japan-America Student8.07.2008Conference Stewart Filmscreen is proud to announce their participation in this summer's Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) with a tour and follow-up Q & A at their factory in Torrance, California. From 9:30am to 12:30pm on August 6th, Tom Stewart, CFO of Stewart Filmscreen, will be hosting 30 to 40 Japanese and American University students during a three-hour visit. The objective of the tour is to allow the students to learn about a successful American business. Stewart's 60- year heritage in developing the best projection screens in the world for many industries including the motion picture business and the United States government should prove to be a unique and rewarding junket during the student's busy schedule in Los Angeles. 72 students from universities across Japan and the United States convene to discuss some of the hottest topics facing the two nations in JASC"s 60th conference. The program alternates host countries each year giving students the rare opportunity to see new places and learn the culture. Not only do conference participants learn about one of the world's most strategic bilateral alliances, they also have the opportunity to directly help reinforce the bonds between countries by sharing knowledge and experiences while making memories and friendships with other future leaders. Throughout its rich history, many JASC alumni from both nations have gone on to achieve distinction in business, academia, government, and other circles. "I am looking forwarding to this opportunity to meet with the students from Japan and provide them a tour of our 4.5 acre manufacturing plant that few people get to see except our dealers" said Tom Stewart. "I believe they will find our business exciting and interesting and I welcome entertaining their questions about what is required to run a successful business in America."
